SECURITY PROCEDURES AT THE POINT OF STUFFING
For Produce and Non-Produce Entries
For Produce Entries once the Broker receives Invoice for Customs Clearance the shipper forwarder should not withhold cargo for more than 12 hours. If so, the shipper/forwarder should provide an explanation to Rancho Customs Brokers. The following are guidelines when stuffing a trailer:
- Prior to stuffing, the trucking company must walk through the 7 Point Container Inspection and document it.
- If Shipper or grower are not C-TPAT, the Trucking Company should “break the pallet” to insure the integrity of the cargo and document it.
- After stuffing, the trucking should go over the 17 Point Tractor and Trailer Inspection Process and document it.
For None-Procedures Entries once the Broker receives Invoice for Customs Clearance the shipper/forwarder should not withhold cargo for more than 48 hours. If so, the shipper/forwarder should provide an explanation to Rancho Customs Brokers. The following are guidelines when stuffing a trailer:
- Prior to stuffing the Trucking company must walk through the 7 Point Container Inspection and document it.
- When stuffing if applicable, it is the responsibility of the Trucking / Freight Forwarder to ensure that the cargo is in compliance with all of CBP’s Security regulations.
- After stuffing the Trucking should go over the 17 Point Tractor and Trailer Inspection Process and document it.
